We begin by visiting Plaza del Quinto Centenario. This town square represents the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Puerto Rico. As part of the tour you will walk through the Ballajá Barracks, the largest building constructed by the Spanish in the New World, explore El Morro Fortress including its upper platform and pay a short visit to the Museum. As you leave El Morro, you can walk to the gardens of Casa Blanca. This was the home of Ponce de Leon and his family. It is considered one of the oldest structures in the world. Further on you will observe La Fortaleza, official home of our elected woman governor and La Rogativa, a sculpture representing Spain's victory over the English. Another stop will be the San Juan Cathedral and a small Indian museum. The tour ends at Plaza de Armas for shopping. Eating will be at local restaurants.
Important: It is highly recommended that you wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes.
